Ministers Chea Vandeth and Heng Sour Forge Partnership to Boost Digital Government Initiatives

Phnom Penh, June 25, 2024: On June 24, 2024, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth met with Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Heng Sour at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to discuss key priorities for collaboration between the two ministries. This meeting highlighted a joint effort to advance Cambodia’s Digital Government Policy 2022-2035, aiming to enhance the digital transformation of government services.

During this strategic gathering, the ministers focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public services through digital means. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, underscoring their commitment to the digital revolution.

As part of the MoU, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications will aid in developing internet infrastructure across the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and its associated technical and vocational education and training institutions. Additionally, it will support digital skills training for civil servants and assist in the technological development of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training’s systems.

This cooperation marks a significant step towards integrating digital technology in public services, ensuring that governmental operations align with modern standards and public expectations.
